National implementation
The European Diabetes Forum (EUDF) works at EU level to advocate for stronger diabetes policies and better care by engaging with European decision‑makers. To achieve real and lasting impact, however, EU‑level initiatives must be effectively implemented at national level. This is where the engagement of country stakeholders is essential - to help translate European commitments into concrete action on the ground.
In this context, EUDF has developed a set of practical materials to support national implementation of the EU Safe Hearts Plan proposed by the European Commission in December 2025. We invite you to use the resources below. By working together, we can ensure the Plan is successfully implemented across all EU Member States.

National Forums
Drawing on the experience of establishing the European Diabetes Forum (EUDF), national diabetes stakeholders may be encouraged to create similar platforms at the country level, helping to ensure that diabetes receives appropriate recognition on public and political agendas.
To support these efforts, the EUDF has developed the guidance below to facilitate the creation or strengthening of multi-stakeholder collaborations at national level, with the shared goal of advancing a better future for people living with diabetes.
